Who we are
Wandering Stars (“we”, “us”) makes the Wandering Stars game for iPhone and iPad (the “App”) and runs this website (the “Site”). This policy explains what information the App and the Site handle, why, and what choices you have. If anything here is unclear, email us at support@wanderingstars.com.
The short version
- No accounts. You never sign up or log in.
- No ads, analytics or tracking. The App contains no advertising or analytics code and does not track you across other apps or websites.
- Your game stays on your device. Progress, the Smoosh Book and settings are stored on your iPhone or iPad and are not sent to us.
- We only receive what you choose to send. If you write to us, we use your message and email address to reply.
- We never sell or share personal information for advertising or any other purpose.
Information stored on your device
To remember where you are, the App saves the following on your device using standard iOS app storage:
- which levels you have cleared;
- the fusions you have discovered in the Smoosh Book;
- your settings for music, sound effects, haptics and reduce motion;
- whether you have seen the intro and the tutorial.
This information never leaves your device through the App and is not available to us. You can erase your levels and Smoosh Book at any time in Settings > Progress > Reset progress. Deleting the App removes everything it stored. If your device backs up to iCloud or a computer, Apple's backup may include this data under Apple's own terms.
Information you send us
When you contact us by email or through a contact form in the App or on the Site, we receive the information you choose to include, such as:
- your email address, and your name if you give it;
- the topic and text of your message;
- any screenshots or photos you attach.
We use this information only to read your message, reply, fix problems you report and improve the game. We do not use it for marketing and do not add you to any mailing list. We keep it only for as long as we need it to deal with your message and keep a record of our conversation, and then delete it. To ask us to delete a message you sent, email support@wanderingstars.com.
Our legal basis for handling this information, where one is required, is your consent and our legitimate interest in answering the people who write to us.
Camera and photos
The App asks for access to your camera or photo library only when you choose to attach a photo to a message in Settings > Help > Contact us. Choosing from your library uses Apple's private photo picker, which shares only the photos you select. The camera opens only when you tap it. The App does not scan, upload or keep any other photos. You can change these permissions at any time in the iOS Settings app.
Board codes
A board code describes a level number and where pieces were placed on it. It contains no personal information. Codes are created on your device and are shared only if you copy and send them yourself.
Advertising, analytics and tracking
The App includes no advertising, analytics, attribution or crash-reporting services from third parties. It does not access your device's advertising identifier and does not track you, so it never shows Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt.
Apple and the App Store
The App is distributed through Apple's App Store. Apple processes information related to your Apple Account, downloads and payments under its own privacy policy. If you have chosen to share analytics with app developers in your device settings, Apple may give us aggregated, anonymous statistics such as download counts and crash totals. These do not identify you.
This website
The Site does not use cookies, analytics or advertising. To display pages, your browser loads fonts, icons and scripts from content delivery networks (cdnjs, operated by Cloudflare, and Tailwind CSS). Those providers receive technical information such as your IP address and browser type as part of delivering the files. The service that hosts the Site may also keep standard server logs, such as IP addresses and pages requested, for security and reliability.
The contact form on the Site checks your message in your browser before it is sent. What happens to information you submit is described in Information you send us.
Children
Wandering Stars is suitable for players of all ages, and the App does not collect personal information from anyone. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has sent us personal information, contact support@wanderingstars.com and we will delete it.
Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of personal information we hold about you, to object to or restrict how we use it, and to withdraw consent. Because we only hold information you send us, you can exercise these rights by emailing support@wanderingstars.com. We will respond within the time required by applicable law. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
Security and transfers
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect messages you send us. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so please do not include sensitive information such as passwords or payment details in a message. Our email provider may store messages in countries other than your own; where required, such transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the App or the Site changes. The date at the top of the page shows when it last changed. If a change materially affects how we handle your information, we will say so clearly on the Site or in the App.
