About us

We make planets walk

Wandering Stars is a puzzle game about planning, rhythm and the joy of watching a plan work, or fail spectacularly.

The game we wanted to play

Most puzzle games ask you to move the pieces. Wandering Stars asks you to move the world around them. The creatures only know one thing, which is walking forward on the beat, so every solution is a small piece of choreography you design and then get to watch.

We wanted a game you can read at a glance and still think about on the bus: boards small enough to take in with one look, runs short enough to try again without sighing, and failures that are funny instead of frustrating. When two stars smoosh by accident, you lose the level but gain a new creature for your Smoosh Book.

Under the neon, the rules are exact. The same board code always plays out the same way, and every level in The Low Sky ships with a solution checked by the game's own simulator, using exactly the pieces it gives you.

What we care about

Four promises

Free means free

No ads, no in-app purchases, no energy timers and no levels behind a paywall. Everything in the game is yours the moment it arrives on your phone.

Nothing hidden

Every star's path is drawn before you place a single piece. When a run fails, the game tells you exactly which hole missed and on which beat.

Your sky stays yours

No accounts, no analytics, no tracking. Progress, the Smoosh Book and your settings live on your device.

Built to be touched

Keys that press down like real ones, haptics on every placement, and sound, music, haptics and motion each on their own switch.

Sound

Sound effects and instrument samples from Kenney, OpenGameArt, Mixkit and the University of Iowa Musical Instrument Samples, used under their free licences.

Type

Signs are set in Bungee by David Jonathan Ross; everything else in Rubik. Both are released under the SIL Open Font License.
